Luce is a series of 12 oil paintings on Belgian linen housed in a leather case, inspired by 7th century Coptic binding. The paintings correspond to the 12 divine Rays of Light, each one having attributes of color, vibration, and other significant qualities; which, when taken together make up the fabric of our entire Universe. The long bands enveloping the book were woven with the collaboration of a cooperative of weavers founded in 1928 in the remote Val Mustair (Monastery Valley), Switzerland.
