150 Silk Squares—  Chosen for the Fourth Pillar of Understanding, the Ego, each silk—part of a commissioned Conscious Collection—was created with mindfulness at its heart and consciousness at its soul to serve as a cornerstone for cultivating mindfulness and a meditation practice.

” In my wonderings and wanderings I collected pieces of nature that have become essential ingredients in my artistic process. Each silk square is unique and contains the essence of the spring flowers and fall foliage I gathered at Creacon, Ireland in 2023. They remind me of Persephone’s journey (Persephone is the goddess associated with growth, fertility and love in Greek mythology) and the seasons – everything happens in a circle, everything is a cycle, everything comes and goes, everything mirrors the earth. To those flowers and leaves I added seaweed foraged in West Kerry on a full Moon, which speaks of blossoming, of completion, of ideas to be realized, as well as some beautiful quartz pebbles and the bark of an ancient Copper Beech tree; a symbol of our ability to manifest all that we believe in while remaining deeply rooted in the here and now.

Each dyed piece also holds the vibration of a particular Ray of Consciousness:

The Crystalline Orange Ray assists us in expanding the abilities of the conscious mind (the color is given by Sappanwood, a plant native to India, and Alkanet, a root growing throughout Europe, Asia and Africa).

The Indigo Ray of Divine Presence fosters Peace and Hope (the color is given, of course, by indigo, a plant-based dye originally exported from India).

The Yellow-Gold Ray facilitates focus and triggers the consciousness of Love (the color is given by Reseda, a plant used to heal bruises in Roman times).

The Pink Ray of Love-Wisdom holds a vast feminine energy and represents the Divine Mother (the color is given by Cochineal, a dye provided by female Dactylopius coccus beetles, which feed on the prickly pear cacti native to South and Central America).
